Fire-Retardant Treated Products
PYRO-GUARD® Interior Fire-Retardant Lumber & Plywood
PYRO-GUARD® pressure-impregnated fire-retardant treated lumber and plywood. Use for interior, enclosed, above-grade applications NOT exposed to weather, dampness or wetting. Pyro-Guard treated wood can be painted or stained.
For exterior applications, use Exterior Fire-XTM treated lumber and plywood.
Exterior Fire-X™ Fire-Retardant Lumber & Plywood
Exterior Fire-X™ (XFX) pressure-impregnated fire-retardant treated lumber and plywood. Use for exterior, weather-exposed and other humid environment applications.
Unlike other fire-retardant products that can only be used in protected, enclosed environments, Exterior Fire-X is developed to withstand the outside elements while also being safe for use indoors. The Exterior Fire-X chemical is not water-soluble and will not leach out of the material when exposed to rain or moisture.
Exterior Fire-X can be painted or stained. If otherwise unfinished, water repellent preservative finishes are recommended for external, weather-exposed applications.
Exterior Fire-X™ BLUE Lumber & Plywood
Exterior Fire-X™ BLUE has the same fire performance characteristics as Exterior Fire-X. A blue stain is added during the pressure treating process for easy identification of the material.
Exterior Fire-X BLUE is widely specified by government agencies and is often used in the nuclear construction and ship-building industries.

Micro-Guard™ Lumber & Plywood
Micro-Guard™ pressure treated lumber and plywood is protected against fungal decay, termites and fastener corrosion in interior and exterior, above-ground and ground-contact applications.
The Micro-Guard treating process uses the Osmose® MicroPro® technology which is a GREENGUARD® Children & Schools Certified low-VOC product suitable for use in schools, offices and other sensitive environments. Plus, MicroPro is approved by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for points toward National Green Building Standard Certification.
Micro-Guard treated lumber and plywood is Kiln Dried After Treatment (KDAT) to reduce warping and twisting in lumber or buckling or crowning of installed plywood.
